Help Is Always Given To Those Who Ask
+ return: "Copperheads & Lionsgate"
Y’all, I had an epic story to tell you this week.
Then I got on Substack and saw a prompt to read my post from last year “Copperheads & Lionsgate”.
Since the Lionsgate Portal closes today (August 12, 2025), I felt compelled to revisit last year’s entry.
And WOW … it’s divine in it’s timing and message. Also the perfect segway to the story I want to tell you next.
A story about how each year, my fears dissipate more and more. How each year, I’m reminded that the big leaps we want to make, while they can certainly happen all at once, most often happen with small micro-decisions sustained over a long period of time. The leaps happen by continuously building the muscles to trust and believe in ourselves — by giving ourselves permission to fully live.
Last Friday I signed up for a 50k (30ish miles) trail race in Old Fort, NC … happening the following day.
I prayed for TWO signs to let me know if I should do it (they came to me nearly immediately), I received a third unprompted sign immediately upon registering, and then I made a final prayer — a prayer that was answered overnight.
This reminds me of one of my favorite HP quotes (yes, I’m enjoying life right now AND counting down the days to our annual Harry Potter Movie Marathon in December) …
“Help will always be given [at Hogwarts] to those who ask for it.”
Enjoy last year’s post and I’ll share the story of the 50k soon. This one blows my mind.
xo,
elle
